Beyond its dedication to its customers, New Image Hair Clinic also supports a wide variety of charitable and humanitarian organizations, including the Cheetah Conservation Fund.

Since its founding in 1990, the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) has been dedicated to the protection of cheetahs. By creating long-term strategies, holding local conservation education programs, and promoting research, the CCF works with stakeholders to protect cheetahs and their habitats. Recently, the CCF sent four puppies from its Livestock Guarding Dog program to the Ruaha Carnivore Project in Tanzania to help farmers protect their livestock from cheetah attacks.

The Cheetah Conservation Fund’s Livestock Guarding Dog program breeds Kangal dogs to serve as effective livestock guard dogs. Since 1994, the CCF has sent more than 450 dogs to Namibian farmers, reducing rates of predation by anywhere from 80 to 100 percent. Dogs add a level of security that allows farmers to feel safer about their livestock and as a result, reduces human-wildlife conflict. Including these four puppies sent to Tanzania, the CCF has placed puppies in four countries in the hopes that local organizations will begin their own livestock guarding dog programs.

<![CDATA[Three Considerations for Hair Restoration Technologies, Presented by New Image Hair Clinic]]>Tue, 03 Dec 2013 21:57:42 GMThttp://newimagehairclinic.weebly.com/new-image-hair-clinics-blog/three-considerations-for-hair-restoration-technologies-presented-by-new-image-hair-clinicEvery year, new techniques for hair restoration are introduced to hair professionals. When evaluating whether or not these new technologies should be applied to alleviate clients’ hair loss concerns, three primary considerations should be addressed. Here are the criteria considered by New Image Hair Clinic.

1. Is the new technology safe to use?
2. Has the new technology been proven effective?
3. Are results from the new technology guaranteed?

Prospective clients should seek the answers to these questions when they decide to pursue hair restoration procedures. Hair professionals should also consider criteria like these when determining whether to offer a new technology or service. Furthermore, in order to provide the best, safest care for their clients, hair restoration professionals should attend multiple training sessions to learn new skills whenever such a technology is adopted.

<![CDATA[Telogen Effluvium - A Common Cause of Hair Loss in Women]]>Fri, 01 Nov 2013 00:10:29 GMThttp://newimagehairclinic.weebly.com/new-image-hair-clinics-blog/telogen-effluvium-a-common-cause-of-hair-loss-in-womenNew Image Hair Clinic, with locations in Pittsburgh and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, strives to help clients dealing with thinning hair and hair loss. The services offered by New Image Hair Clinic include laser therapy, hair transplants, and non-surgical solutions.

Although hair loss may be more common in men, many women experience hair loss, as well. Women experiencing hair loss or thinning hair may suffer from low self-esteem and struggle to understand why the problem is occurring. Telogen effluvium is sometimes the answer they are trying to find, and women experience the condition for a variety of reasons. It commonly occurs after pregnancy, for example. Other causes include extreme stress and certain types of medications. The hair loss associated with telogen effluvium typically occurs between six weeks and three months after a triggering event.

Telogen effluvium occurs when a higher than normal number of hair follicles enter the dormant stage of growth at the same time. Many doctors recommend waiting out the hair loss, which should eventually slow unless the trigger, such as stress, remains constant. If you believe medication is the reason for your hair loss, discuss the issue with your doctor. It is not the only cause of hair loss in women, but telogen effluvium is particularly common.]]>
<![CDATA[Detecting the Early Signs of Women’s Hair Loss]]>Thu, 10 Oct 2013 07:07:28 GMThttp://newimagehairclinic.weebly.com/new-image-hair-clinics-blog/detecting-the-early-signs-of-womens-hair-lossNew Image Hair Clinic is affiliated medically with MTHC and offers a full range of noninvasive and nonmedical solutions for women who experience hair loss. Unlike men, women do not face the prospect of a receding hairline and they rarely go bald. Rather, women’s hair loss begins with thinning throughout the scalp and particularly in the crown region. The tendency of many women to have longer hair than men also makes it difficult to identify hair loss at the beginning stages, because hair frequently comes out during brushing.

Because the problem often is subtle and hard to identify, women should be aware of increased amounts of hair appearing on the brush as a sign that early-stage hair loss may be occurring. With options increasingly limited as hair loss progresses, it makes sense to seek hair replacement advice from an experienced professional as soon as early-stage hair loss is suspected. New Image Hair Clinic offers a variety of advanced solutions customized to the particular needs of women, including the Folistrand treatment that uses strands of the client’s own hair in restoring the hairline.]]>

One of the services offered by New Image Hair Clinic is transplant therapy

For candidates whose analysis indicates eligibility, this method can utilize hair from the sides or back of the patient’s own head. These strands are genetically stable, will not fall out, and will continue to grow where transplanted for the balance of the patient’s life. In an effort to create added value, all transplantations are inclusive of follow-up care at no additional cost.

Among other specific transplant solutions offered by NIHC are Folligraft and Bio-Membrane procedures. Foligraft is utilized primarily for patients with thinning hair, as the strands can be selectively placed. With Bio-Membrane transplantation, individual follicles are implanted into an eighth layer of skin, accomplishing the most advanced replacement therapy available from the clinic.

<![CDATA[New Image Hair Clinic: Offering Clients Hair and Scalp Analysis]]>Sat, 30 Mar 2013 04:01:47 GMThttp://newimagehairclinic.weebly.com/new-image-hair-clinics-blog/new-image-hair-clinic-offering-clients-hair-and-scalp-analysisLocated in Pittsburgh and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, New Image Hair Clinic offers
professional specialists with a wide range of experience in proven, reliable
hair loss treatments for men and women. Our initial consultations start with a
free comprehensive scalp analysis, in which we define hair loss patterns and
search out the primary cause of hair thinning or balding. Hair loss may stem
from many contributing factors, including medical issues, nutritional
deficiencies, and stress. Learning about lifestyle and medical factors gives
insight into possible reasons for hair loss, but does not present conclusive
evidence. A professional hair and scalp analysis presents important evidence
that can define the scope of hair loss and point to possible treatment
solutions.

Our scalp analysis is completely safe and non-invasive, and
only trained hair loss treatment professionals conduct the procedure.
Microscopic analysis of just a few strands of hair from the scalp reveals
patterns of structural damage and the rate of hair loss and can reveal the
presence of fungus, lice, or genetic issues. Mineral analysis offers another
important set of data points. Levels of magnesium, calcium, zinc, copper,
chromium, mercury, lead, and aluminum give an indication of nutritional
deficiencies and medical conditions that may contribute to hair loss. A mineral
analysis will be performed by an outside source if deemed necessary.

Once New Image Hair Clinic staff have thoroughly analyzed the causes behind a
client’s hair loss, priority shifts to helping the client achieve the most
natural hairline possible through advanced hair restoration technologies. One
treatment solution we offer clients is hair transplantation utilizing
microscopic dissection techniques. This procedure allows us to generate
substantial new hair growth. Taking hairs from the scalp and side of the head
that are genetically predetermined not to fall out, we transplant individual
strands to the part of the head losing hair. New Image has a medical affiliation
by H.R.M.G. The newly transplanted hair will continue to grow naturally for the
rest of the client’s life. For more information about New Image Hair Clinic

The Westmoreland County Food Bank reaches its community through a number of programs aimed at eradicating hunger. Since its inception, the food bank has sponsored a Summer Food Service program, extending the National School Lunch Program throughout the summer holidays so that hungry children under the age of 18 still have access to breakfast and lunch when they are not in school. Funded by the State Department of Agriculture, the food bank's Commodity Supplemental Food program provides seniors ages 60 and up with monthly food boxes. The Operation Fresh Express program distributes perishable foods to people in need before they reach their expiration dates.

Working through 80 different member agencies, with 47 being food pantries frequented by low-income consumers, the Westmoreland County Food Bank reaches 15,000 Westmoreland County residents every month, including over 2,000 seniors and 4,000 children. Recently, the non-profit reorganized and expanded its operations. A number of organizations, including the Westmoreland Chamber of Commerce, recognized its efforts and achievements.
